The capsule collection “Morning Light” was created by the Round Studio for branding, creative strategy and design, founded by Shira Elbeck and Inbar Ben Shabat, in collaboration with the Shenkar Institute for Design Research, led by Galit Gaon, Tom Cohen, and Rotem Kaplan.
This series of textile artworks depicts intimate, everyday scenes from the local home. Each scene is composed of familiar imagery that has been deconstructed and reconstructed. The works’ components are derived from imagery from the historical collection of the Shenkar Center for Design Research – posters and advertisements, packaging and postcards, stamps and children’s books from the collective history. The imagery selected from the collection relates to iconic markers that form the collective aesthetic and emotional foundation of the local home.
Objects, images and forms from the past that, despite the passing decades and evolving styles, continue to symbolize the essence of home and evoke a sense of familiarity.
