On Two Fronts // Rotem Codish
Rotem Codish, 29, is an illustrator and designer holding a bachelor’s degree and currently pursuing a master’s degree at Shenkar. “I live with my husband, Peleg, and our dog, Tova, in Moshav Sdeh Moshe.
On October 7th, Peleg received his emergency draft order (Tzav 8) and was deployed to fight in Gaza. When he returned after months without communication, we were no longer the same people we had been before the war. To cope with the situation, I embarked on a 100-day project, creating one illustration each day, documenting intimate moments, pain, and hope.
The book “On Two Fronts” is a graphic journal that captures the complexity of life during wartime, shedding light on its impact on relationships. Our story is not just personal – it reflects the experience of countless couples facing distance and crisis. I hope this book will offer people a sense that they are not alone and help us recognize the good, even in difficult times.”
