Hila, an artist and photographer, is currently focused on a limited edition series of works that were either photographed in the Gaza envelope region or relate to a personal story from the war. As a business, Avney-Tal decided to contribute by purchasing Hila’s “Olive Leaves” photographs for the gallery, where they are displayed in the gallery space as a curated exhibition.
Approximately 20% of all proceeds are regularly donated to families in the South and wounded soldiers. “As a photographer and artist, it is vital for me to approach my work with empathy and convey my personal connection to the subjects I photograph. While working on these images, I focused on getting to know the people and the lives they have lost.
This experience led me to the realization that my personal project is not just about expressing my own feelings and emotions to the world, but also an attempt to bring the truth in these personal moving stories to a wider audience , to preserve the memory of the events and places that were lost, and above all – to keep hope alive.”
